22 February
UK Periprosthetic Joint Infection – GLASGOW

1559, Royal College, Glasgow

The UKPJI annual conference has been launched following the success and challenges of the Philadelphia international consensus meeting to create a group of UK surgeons, microbiologists, ID clinicians, nursing staff, physiotherapists and all allied disciplines. We are attempting to gain a consensus on management, share experience and evaluate new treatments in native and prosthetic joint infection (PJI). PJI is one of the greatest challenges facing healthcare services, causing significant morbidity and mortality to those patients affected.

The 2021 conference will be held over a single day on Monday 22nd February at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow. There will be international and national speakers sharing experience in management, and group sessions to develop pathways and consensus documents for treating PJI. We plan to expand on the 2020 meeting to include native joint infection in 2021, as well as the predominate areas of hip and knee, with breakout sessions for foot/ankle and upper limb.
